Who We Are

Bread of Life Academy (BOLA) is a ministry of Calvary Chapel of Rochester (CCR). We are a nondenominational church with outreaches throughout the country and the world. We are in the Calvary Corners at 2503 Browncroft Blvd in Penfield NY. Our faith, worship, and devotion are centered on the person of Jesus Christ. “And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists and some, pastors and teachers. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-12

BOLA is the new BOLCA which CCR started in 2001 and closed in 2010. We were blessed with what God had done, but it was clear the Lord had different plans. We are currently under different circumstances and are excited to once again hear the Lord call us to start again! We are starting with Elementary grades as previously and planning on adding a sequential grade every year after. As we understand the difficulty of fulfilling the God given task of raising/educating children according to His will as laid out in the scriptures, we desire to come alongside the body of Christ to serve with you in this capacity.

We believe that God has created every child for a specific purpose, a life that is to be blessed and in turn bless others. Our purpose is to serve Jesus Christ through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and to prepare students not only for necessary life pursuits, but to wholeheartedly serve our God in whatever vocation they are called. We believe that God has given each child gifts and abilities. It is our prayer to be used to “stir up these gifts” (2 Tim. 1: 6) so that every child will fully attain his or her God-given potential throughout their whole lives and receive the full blessing of Christ. Our prayer is that they will know his love, thus fulfilling the greatest commandment: “Thou shalt love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul.” Our desire for our students is that they become, by the grace of God, everything they were created to be, spiritually and intellectually.

We believe in the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; these three are one. We believe in the divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ. We believe the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God. We believe in the forgiveness of sins only through faith in what Jesus accomplished through His death on the cross. We believe He rose from the dead. We believe that eternal life is a free gift; we are saved by grace through faith in the Son of God. We believe that the relationship God desires to have with us is a living personal one, as a father loves his children. We believe in the imminent, literal return of Jesus Christ. The Calvary Chapel ministry is that of teaching the Word of God and serving him through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
